Our first official run is on Saturday. And the knot tightens. I'm scared that I won't be able to run the whole time. Tightens. I don't want Kyle to be disappointed. Tighter. I'm not really a runner anyway. And tighter. I should probably just quit. And tighter.
The truth is I will probably be so excited that I will run the whole thing without much trouble. The truth is that Kyle is a GREAT encourager and would never be anything but my biggest cheerleader. The truth is that anyone that can run is a runner. I don't care if it's 60 seconds (which was a HUGE feat for me initially) or 60 minutes. I AM A RUNNER.
I come up with these negative scenarios and they actually get the best of me sometimes. I'm sure that I'm the only one that struggles with this. But not this time. I'm going to run this thing. I'm going to do it. I'm going to overcome these knots in my tummy. I'm going to finish what I've started. I'm going to push myself. I'm going to amaze myself!
Speaking of crazy...
I just signed up for Boot Camp. It starts in the morning...at 6 am. No time like the present. Sir, yes sir!

You're not the only one! I think that's everyone's issue- feeling like a runner or that they can do it. Races are really fun though, you can't underestimate the power of adrenaline!!
ReplyDeleteKyle is running with you? That's awesome!
I'm so excited to hear a recap!!!
And boot camp... Can you pass some of your motivation my way?? Pretty please??
I was a runner in a former life and for me race day was all about enjoying the experience. The total weirdness of the fact that there are hundreds of people meeting in one location and running side by side with no real destination. The completely random mix of people who have chosen to show up and push themselves. The mystery of what your body will chose to do on that given day. It will be an adventure and whatever happens, it is only one day in your whole life as a runner. I'm getting so excited just remembering those days! I wish i was running with you! Have an oj, chocolate milk, and coke afterward for me!
ReplyDeleteMore please!!
