The Importance of Being Clever

A confession - I haven't blogged because I'm afraid I'm not as witty or as intelligent as some of the bloggers I've been blog-stalking.  I've made up my mind though...WHO CARES!?!  I don't have to amaze and amuze you.  The important thing is that I amaze and amuze myself!!

Speaking of sleeping well, The Bubbie slept until 7:30 this morning...UNINTERRUPTED.  No crying at 4 am.  I, of course, got up 52 bazillion times to check on him and make sure that he was still breathing.  I've heard many people say that they put a mirror near the baby's face to make sure he's breathing.  Silliness.  I just touch his hand and make him wiggle a bit.  I like to see him wiggle.  It seems more significant to me than the mirror test.

I am a different person when The Bubbie sleeps like this.  It's been three nights now without the middle-of-the-night feeding.  It is BEAUTIFUL!  And, get this, he wakes up happier!  I awoke this morning to the sound of him chatting in bed.  I love those coos and googlies.

Now for a little controversy...CEREAL!  If you are a parent, you already know that this is a hot topic.  If not, no biggie.  You're probably ahead of the game by not giving this much thought at all.  We discussed cereal for weeks.  We talked to the experts - The Sister, The Maja, The Maja-in-Law, and The Doctor.  The Doctor was, of course, the last person we consulted as he is viewed to have the least amount of knowledge.  Go figure.  After much research and debate, we decided to start The Bubbie on cereal at the ripe ol' age of 11 weeks.  While this might sound young to some, according to my baby book The Maja had me on cereal and fruit at 2 weeks and MEAT at 5 weeks.  Woozer!  I'm not sure if he likes the cereal.  You be the judge.

He likes it!  He really likes it!
